Colorado Elopement Photographer
I’m a Colorado elopement photographer who loves capturing the simple, intimate nuptials of couples tying the knot in the Denver metro area or another nearby Colorado locale. That the focus is almost exclusively on the couple is a refreshing reminder that, at the end of the day, what matters more than the seating arrangements, the DJ, or the flowers, is the union between two souls who are locking it down and riding or dying to the end of their days. Now that’s romantic!
If you want me to meet you at the Denver courthouse, Flagstaff Amphitheater, Rocky Mountain National Park, or another location along the Front Range of Colorado to capture your elopement or micro wedding in front of a few of your favorite humans, I’m down! Holler at me for more info.
Colorado Elopements & Micro Wedding Photography
Before I became a Colorado elopement photographer slash micro wedding photographer, I was a macro wedding photographer. I shot all kinds of weddings and would take all comers– shooting elaborate nuptials in Denver, Aspen, Beaver Creek and destination weddings in Los Angeles, New Orleans, Italy, and even Sir Richard Branson’s, Necker Island.
I shot A LOT of weddings back in the day. Like 30-40 a year. Year after year. I was younger then. Even so, it got to be too much. Too much driving up I-70 every weekend to photograph back-to-back weddings. Too much interacting with type A wedding planners. And way more than one too many times not being fed a meal during a 9-hour wedding. It all got to be too much.
I burned out.
I stopped doing weddings for years with very few exceptions. What were the exceptions? Very small weddings (we’ll call them micro weddings) were the exception to that rule. The elopements and micro weddings that I found myself shooting for friends and acquaintances were different than the high stress, 9-12 hour weddings I was used to shooting. They were shorter, often sweeter, and inherently more intimate. They were simpler. More laid back and full of authentic moments and genuine expressions of love and tenderness. There was less focus on the traditions and rituals of more elaborate weddings and more emphasis on just having a good time with friends and family. Enjoying this one life we all get to live. Elopements and micro weddings were, and are, a vibe that I find is right up my alley.
So, if you’re having an elopement (less than 15 people) or micro wedding (50 people or less requiring 3-5 hours of coverage) or a vow renewal, I’d love to hear from you!
