Denver Maternity Photographer
As a Denver maternity photographer and mother of two, I know firsthand how special it is to have this chapter in motherhood documented. Being pregnant is a wholly transformative experience—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. And while 9 months is a short period of motherhood when compared to the years of mothering to come, it’s also a time that is often filled with beautiful, novel, and even hilarious moments. Commemorate this time in your life with a photographic story that you can look back on over the years or share with your children when they are older.
Planning Your Lifestyle Maternity Shoot: Location & Activities
As an experienced lifestyle maternity and pregnancy photographer who has photographed hundreds of mothers to be over the years, I will document your unique experience as an expectant mother in a style that is natural, intimate, and documentary in nature. Maybe that’s relaxing on the front porch with your pooch and your partner. Or perhaps it’s out on a nature hike at Red Rocks or at Chautauqua in Boulder or swimming laps at your local pool. It could be eating a pint of Ben and Jerry’s on your kitchen island or taking a soak in your claw-foot bathtub. Wherever the location and whatever the activity, it’s important to ask yourself this question: What do you want to remember about this special time in your life? And what have been the highlights and rituals of your expectancy? Let’s capture these things!
When to Schedule Your Maternity Session
Most of my clients schedule their maternity photo sessions at between 30-35 weeks. The belly is usually well-defined by this time, which photographs beautifully, and most women still feel relatively comfortable and energetic. That said, it’s really up to you. If you’re ready for your shoot at 26 weeks, then by all means, that’s when you should have me photograph you! One thing to keep in mind: I can get busy at different times throughout the year (especially late summer and fall) so I would recommend booking with me 4-6 weeks in advance.
