and Dan\u2019s urban engagement session"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lauren and Dan are one of the couples that I am most excited about working with this upcoming season.\u00a0 So it was no surprise that we had such a good time working together on their engagement portraits.\u00a0 We started at a bar on Colfax and then went to twist and shout, where we got kicked out (which is always an adventure), and then landed at and around the Tattered Cover.<br \/>\nDan was extremely nervous about doing the shoot\u2013I honestly think\u00a0 he thought he would have rather poked his eyes out than spend a Saturday afternoon posing pretty for engagement portraits.\u00a0 But between you and me\u2026.\u00a0 I think he ended up have a pretty good time.\u00a0 Because I knew that Dan really didn\u2019t want to pose for the camera, I did 90% of this shoot with a 70-200mm and was a voyeur.\u00a0\u00a0 I really like the challenge of having to work as a journalist with engagement portraits, rather than spend an hour posing and making \u201cpretty\u201d.\u00a0 And the clients who prefer this type of documentation are my dream clients.\u00a0 Posing is great for a couple of shots\u2014I guess you\u2019ve gotta have that \u201cnewspaper shot\u201d, but when I get to hide and capture \u201creal life\u201d during a \u201creal time\u201d in somebody\u2019s life, I\u2019m pretty much happy all around.\u00a0 Thanks, Lauren and Dan!\u00a0 Can\u2019t wait for March 26th!<a
