{"id":7778,"date":"2010-05-11T07:43:45","date_gmt":"2010-05-11T13:43:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/julieharrisphotography.com\/blog\/?p=7778"},"modified":"2013-01-24T10:22:00","modified_gmt":"2013-01-24T17:22:00","slug":"mini-clear-the-clutter-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/julieharrisphotography.com\/blog\/mini-clear-the-clutter-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"Mini-Clear the Clutter Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nope\u2026. this is not a workshop led be me.\u00a0 I\u2019ll just be hosting it.\u00a0\u00a0 I don\u2019t really have many brilliant things to say when it comes to being an organized photographer other than to call on Regina of The Organized Photographer to revolutionize your work-flow!\u00a0 I just spent over 4 hours with this amazing lady while she schooled me on getting my act together so that my daily grind\u00a0 is streamlined and savvy.\u00a0\u00a0 Her first question to me was, \u201cWhat would your perfect day look like?\u201c\u00a0 I answered, impulsively saying that I would love to wake up, enjoy a cup of strong, steaming black coffee,\u00a0 write in my journal, drive to Boulder, take a long hike up Sanitas, then head to the Boulder Cafe for Happy hour.\u00a0 I\u2019d then probably come home, watch an episode of Mad Men and go to bed early in freshly laundered sheets.\u00a0 She said, \u201cHow often do you do this?\u201d\u00a0 Never was my answer, of course.\u00a0\u00a0 I never have time!\u00a0 The only thing I do on this list on a regular basis is the strong black coffee!\u00a0 It\u2019s ironic actually, I\u2019m a person who fully embraces freedom and \u201cquality of life\u201d and I preach it on a regular basis to others, but I\u2019m never actually walking what I talk\u2013albeit the travel of course, which if you ask my husband, I don\u2019t have time for either.\u00a0 Regina however preaches about literally making space and time in your life and in your work to do the things that you love, so that you are living your dream day\u2013be it spending time with your children or hiking Sanitas with friends.\u00a0 Sounds nice, eh?<br \/>\nI don\u2019t want to spoil the workshop, but let me put it this way\u2026\u00a0 I didn\u2019t even have a portrait contract before Regina met with me.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t have a filing system or database for my clients or future clientele.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t even have a trash can under my desk.\u00a0 I simply accumulated a years worth of unnecessary junk and somehow stuffed it into every corner of my studio.\u00a0 It looked nice to an outsider coming in of course.\u00a0 I could present myself as an organized photographer but I dreaded the day I would have to go through every loose data DVD lying around, or send a mass email to my clients\u2026\u00a0\u00a0 Today however, Regina did that for me, and with me.\u00a0 And she\u2019ll do it for you too!\u00a0 I am so excited about Regina\u2019s mad skills as an organized photographer, business coach, and artist (did I mention that she is an esteemed and incredible photographer of 10 years) that I am going to host a mini-clear the clutter workshop to get people started on the right foot!\u00a0 Come learn new ways to create a work space that nourishes you, work more efficiently and align your values with your daily to-do list. Bring a notebook and a friend!\u00a0 Whether you are just starting your photography business or simply want to gear up for the wedding season, this workshop is for you!<br \/>\nThe mini-clear the clutter workshop will be held at 7pm on June 1st at my studio: 2405 West 32nd Ave Denver, CO 80211.<br \/>\nThe cost is $35 which will include cocktails, food and a serious education!<br \/>\nPlease contact Regina at regina@recherche-photography.com\u00a0 by May 25th to RSVP.
