{"id":1606,"date":"2009-02-16T07:38:02","date_gmt":"2009-02-16T14:38:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/julieharrisphotography.com\/blog\/?p=9667"},"modified":"2011-09-29T05:25:30","modified_gmt":"2011-09-29T11:25:30","slug":"valentine%e2%80%99s-day%e2%80%94and-a-brilliant-idea-for-a-blog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/julieharrisphotography.com\/blog\/valentine%e2%80%99s-day%e2%80%94and-a-brilliant-idea-for-a-blog\/","title":{"rendered":"Valentine\u2019s Day\u2014and a brilliant idea for a blog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1607\" src=\"https:\/\/julieharrisphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/heart-dreamboat-annie-59768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"472\"><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/julieharrisphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/heart-dreamboat-annie-59768.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I know it doesn\u2019t fit my branding, but I must confess that I\u2019m a sucker for Valentine\u2019s Day.&nbsp; I don\u2019t remember the last time I didn\u2019t celebrate it.&nbsp; Even when I was single I would make Valentine cookies or watch a really sappy love flick with my girlfriends.&nbsp; No need for the singles to pout, right?<\/p>\n<p>Tonight was no exception. &nbsp; Although Jesse and I didn\u2019t do anything grand, we did go to the Boulder Cafe for a romantic dinner.&nbsp; Then&nbsp; we ended up at the food court at Flatirons crossing for some subway sandwiches (no joke\u2013we really did!&nbsp; Jesse apparently wasn\u2019t satisfied with the fondue, crab and oysters that we had at dinner).&nbsp; On the way home from the mall I was smiling and happy, and thinking to myself how great it is to simply celebrate love.&nbsp; It doesn\u2019t have to be fine dinning and a couples massage on the 14th of <b style=\"color:#000;background:#ff66ff\">February<\/b>, or chocolate and roses.&nbsp; The food court with my hubby was perfect, plus I got the chance to pick up the latest <em>sweethearts<\/em> CD at the mall\u2019s Starbucks.&nbsp; In case you haven\u2019t caught on to this fantastic annual tradition, Starbucks puts out a love song&nbsp; cover compilation every <b style=\"color:#000;background:#ff66ff\">February<\/b>.&nbsp; 2004\u2032s was the best yet, but this year\u2019s wasn\u2019t bad.&nbsp; Anyhow, it prompted me think\u2026. If I were a rock star and could&nbsp; cover just one love song\u2014what would it be?&nbsp; I thought about this the entire way back from Broomfield and came up with a few, but it boiled down to either&nbsp; \u201cAlone\u201d by Heart or&nbsp; \u201cBlossom\u201d by James Taylor.&nbsp; It also made me think about how good I would be at putting one of these compilations together (I\u2019m stellar at a good mix CD), which then led me to this brilliant idea:&nbsp;<em> A love song <b style=\"color:#000;background:#66ff99\">blog<\/b> contest<\/em>!<\/p>\n<p>If <em>you<\/em> could pick <em>just one<\/em> love song to cover\u2014 one song that you could sing with all your heart and perform even better than the original\u2014what would it be?&nbsp;&nbsp; Whoever (in my humble opinion) picks the best love song that they would hypothetically cover, will receive a&nbsp; love song cover compilation put together by yours truly.&nbsp; The contest will end in one week.&nbsp;
