Wes and Callie’s New Orleans Wedding
I was given the incredible honor of being flown to, and put up in, NOLA to photograph Callie and Wes’s New Orleans wedding last month.Β The ceremony and day’s festivities took place at the most insane venue called Race and Religious.Β It’s two old creole cottages built in 1853 (one being the old slave quarters) joined by a small sky bridge on the corner of Race and Religious streets andΒ is seriously maybe the sweetest venue I’ve photographed.Β Β By sweetest I mean the most amazing, gorgeous,Β rustic/ chic space for any kind of shoot-let alone a wedding.Β In fact, this place is so great that Anthropologie shot their 2012 fall catalog there.Β And of course Callie and Wes, with the help of Elyse of Tying the Knot Wedding Coordination made the place even that more fabulous with their impeccable taste.Β It was rustic French meets Southern elegance.
What made the wedding however wasn’t the incredible space or the gold painted succulents, but the fact that Callie and Wes’s marriage unified a perfectΒ little family.Β Wes has three beautiful children that Callie is obviously head over heels for.Β And they for her.Β It was simply a fairy tale.
This is such an evocative, beautiful post. Feels almost voyeuristic to me. You done good, hon. π
Amazing Julie!
Yowza! Visual eye candy. What a venue, beautiful family too.
Every time I think you can’t possible get better, you do. In my opinion, you are the most amazing photographers of all times. So many photographers will make sure their photographs are impeccable but I don’t feel anything.
You are different and somehow go way beyond that. You bring life & soul to every single images you take. I am so glad I found your blog 4 years ago because you are such an inspiration to me.
Julie, Thank you so so so much for coming to New Orleans for our wedding! I have had nothing but amazing compliments about the moments you captured. I am glad you enjoyed the trip and I could NOT have picked anyone better to capture our perfect day!
simply beautiful, amazing job π
Beautiful images. I really LOVE the architectural elements. Nice!
Probably a new favorite!!
AMAZING.
Love these photos! The venue looks amazing and the way you captured them as a loving couple, and all the little details is really beautiful. I almost felt as if I was there! Great work, Julie π
WOW, love your photography.
Stunning images, everyone looks so natural and relaxed, the shot over the water to the couple is one of my faves!
That shot of the ladies looking out the sun-drenched window just kills me. Beautiful.
The image of the couple in front of the pool….AMAZING! And I LOVE the sign that the ring bearer was holding. Great Job!
Julie, you truly are an artist. We had an amazing time with you! You truly captured the beauty of their wedding, in such a creative way. Callie and I cannot stop admiring them! Hope all is well π
Julie, these photos are wildly beautiful. Like Jesse, I feel devilishly voyeuristic. We are getting married at R+R next November, and couldn’t be more excited about this incredible venue.
Callie, your wedding looked the stuff dreams are made of. I hope it’s been a magical year. Are you and Wes in New Orleans? I just might have to stalk you to talk candles.
