Jemma
I’ll let these images speak for themselves in this post… But I just have to say that Jemma is AMAZING and should be a supermodel. It was also so much fun to do these outside the “boudoir”.

Man, oh man, do I love the Holt’s–they are one of my favorite “regulars”. I love their mid-century, ranch style home, their laid back way of life, their incredible sense of style, and of course I love these kiddos! And there is a new addition to the Holt’s since I worked with them last. Meet Amalia–or “Molly” as they call her. Oh my goodness, I could just eat her up. She’s just as bubbly and full of life as her big brother, Merrick, and she’s only 4.5 months old–I can’t wait to see her little spirit in a year… What a treat it is to have such amazing clients.

I got to spend some time with the Daley’s and their sweet little baby, Levi last Saturday morning. It was rainy and cold and the perfect day for two new parents to settle in with their newborn, cup of coffee and good music. Because I’m pregnant with my first, I’m starting to really enjoy these shoots and empathize with families in a new way. I dream about how I want Jesse and I photographed with the little one when she arrives and I think a documentary approach is so sweet at this stage–especially since there is no real control over the babies emotions or reactions to me being there. I loved how quite and intimate this shoot felt. Amy and Matt are adjusting incredibly and are so in love with little Levi that they hardly noticed I was there, which is exactly the way I like to shoot.

Christina and Kenny’s wedding was right up my alley and simply wonderful. They were married at Christina’s parent’s home in Winter Park amongst family and one sweet dog named Nina. Christina and Kenny choose to get married on her parent’s anniversary as well which was such a lovely tribute. The entire celebration was exactly what a wedding should be about–a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony, and an amazing dinner with dear ones. There was love and lots of fun and laughter. It was perfect.

Christina’s grandfather sang two songs to Christina and Kenny during the ceremony and totally grabbed my heart. I cried through both songs… so incredible.

Christina and Kenny had mini cakes made for each person at the wedding including some gluten free ones for those who needed them. It was the best wedding cake I’ve ever had… seriously.

I know I’ve said this before about other clients, but Lee Lee and Michael really might be the most fun loving couple I have ever worked with. EVER. I had never met Lee Lee and Michael before their engagement session (which took place a week before their wedding), but I wish I had, and I plan to spend many more hours with them in the coming years. These two are total GEMS–they are kind, bubbly audio files who already spent their honeymoon (pre-wedding) following Widespread Panic. Need I say more? Fun. We started with a shot of tequila at McLoughlin’s, then hit Commons park where we just played and got to know each other. Lee Lee and Michael’s wedding was on Saturday and met every expectation of the fun celebration that I could have only imagined coming from these two. Lee Lee even got on the mic and rapped. Enough said about that… you’ll have to stay tuned for the wedding blog entry. Enjoy these for now…

Janine and Noel had a spectacular wedding at Devil’s Thumb ranch that was simply put–fun, fun!! These two cared about the party and mingling with their friends–and of course their very short, but sentimental ceremony. Janine and Noel were super laid back and I loved watching and capturing them enjoying the day. These are my kind of weddings! I couldn’t complain about the Colorado mountain backdrop either. Wow…

I have a new found appreciation for maternity portraits. This time in a families life is truly a special one–there is so much excitement and anticipation around carrying a baby and then bringing one home. It’s also insane what the female body can do and photographing it is pretty amazing. Nicole and Eric were gracious enough to invite me to their home to photograph a “day in their life”. I approached this pregnant mama with reverence and asked a million questions, knowing that I too, will soon be experiencing what she is. It’s a miracle.
