Jamie and John in Bedford, Massachusetts
A couple of months ago, I had the pleasure and opportunity to fly out to Massachusetts to attend and photograph my good friend, Jamie’s wedding. She married the love of her life in the cutest little church on mainstreet and then partied hard in the the backyard of their beautiful home in Bedford. Their home was the perfect place for a wedding reception–in fact, I told Jamie that she should rent it out for other weddings. Set on about an acre of land and backing up to the forest, the property includes a huge barn which Jamie has turned into her own personal yoga studio (she is an instructor), and a little open aired smaller barn which served as the best wedding bar ever. It was eye candy for any photographer—and I would have posted more details, but I’m an emotion girl, and chose to post the more tear jerking moments of the day. Jamie and John—I’m so happy for you and honored that you flew me all the way out to your home to document this very special day. I can’t wait to see you again–come to Colorado soon! Congratulations!
Chartreuse wedding shoes! I loved them…
I simply had to post two photos of Jamie’s precession with her father. Timeless, beautiful moment!
I don’t know why I’m so amused with other cameras at weddings—maybe because I’m fighting with them all day. It’s certainly a love hate relationship. As much as I appreciate people making their own photographs, there is nothing worse than editing a perfect photo, toned red with a pre-flash laser light. That is why the image above is now black and white.
Love this one.
…and this one. I love grandmas and grandpas!
Hottie bride!
These pictures turned out amazing! Love the emotion of Jamie while walking down the aisle with her father. Crazy story but Dave and I met these two while in Greece this past September! We discovered we all shared a great photographer!
The colour is just crackling…! Lovely shoot Julie…!
The sun flare and the shot with the bride resting her head on the grooms shoulder are my favs…!
smashin!
Julie – your photos are continually and consistently beautiful. I love love love them. I come to your site for inspiration, smiles and joy. And have been since meeting you a few years ago. MHPhotographers asked in a poll last month which Denver Photographer you’d most like to work with, I said you. You capture the best expressions and keep it real. Keep it up! Keep being you!
The grandmas looking at the ring shot is cute. Oh, and the uncle sticking out his tongue!
Julie-They are just as amazing as I remember them.
I love every picture, but I LOVE the grandparents in the 2nd to last picture. It brought tears to my eyes, and I hope that’s Nick and me in 50 years.

Julie-I’ve known how amazingly talented you are since our college days, and to see these pictures now brings tears to my eyes (which clearly wasn’t an uncommon occurrence for that day!) Because of our friendship, you know our story, and it is translated so honestly in these images. This was a day that was full of emotion, not just because it was our wedding day, but also because of the emotion of the absence of my mom, and because the love and support of our family and friends was so palpable, it was overwhelming. There were so many stories to be told that day and the camera told them all. Seeing that amazing picture of my grandparents makes me melt (if only your blog readers could have seen my nana and her sister tear up the dance floor!) It was such a happy day and seeing these brings it all back. Thank you infinitely for your incredible work and for being such a great person on top of it all. xoxo
Congrats Jamie and John! Wish I could’ve been there!
