Hacked
My blog has been compromised. Hacked. Deleted. DELETED!!! Who does this? It’s cyberspace vandalism. I’m among 30 plus other flosites blogs who have been hacked. If you have a flosites blog, or if you password protect your blog. PICK A STRONG PASSWORD. I have been spending the last 48 hours frantically trying to restore and collect any data that I can in order to somehow piece together 5 years of my heart and soul. My portfolio and journal are gone. Please be patient with me for future posts and keep your fingers crossed. I may be starting from square one…
Google Reader still pulls up your blog entries starting on July 21. So maybe not all is actually lost. I hope that your host fixes their holes and you can be back on your merely way. I really enjoy your blog and hope that you can get things restored.
I had a feeling that something was wrong. I have the rss feed on my phone and saw the new post that said hello world. I tried to send you a message from my new iphone but I still have not mastered that thing and I think I hit every button trying to comment.
Michelle and I are truly sorry that this happened to you! I hope you can salvage your work. I don’t know why people do such things!
Ugh, who does that? Let me know if you need anything, your blog is archived on my Google Reader and I would be more than happy to send you copy and picture links if you need them!
Rat bastards! That’s who does that. Good luck.
julie i’m so sorry. what a bunch of pricks! i’ve recently launched my photography blog as a direct result of being inspired by yours. thank you for putting yourself out there the way you do and i’m sorry some jerks hacked into your blood sweat and tears.

NOOO! That is so awful!
wow. This is unbelievable. I am so so sorry Julie. What an a$&!
Wow Julie! I know you don’t know me, but I’m a fellow photographer that is always inspired by your work. I’m so bummed that you’ve been hacked. Satan uses all kinds to rob us of our peace. I sure hope you are able to restore soon back to normal. I will keep logging on to check.
This makes me super sad!! I love your blog and I even look back from time to time!!
I’m so sorry to hear about your blog site being hacked. I’m a photographer and also a web developer of 15 years. If you want to email me off-post I can give you some info about preventing this in the future, as well as how to back up the database containing your pages and posts so that you can easily restore all your data in a few seconds should it ever happen again.
That is awful Julie, I am so sorry!
heartbroken for you. holding you in the light in your attempts to recover. your work has been such an inspiration to me, and I know it will continue to be. with much love
There’s a site called the way back machine that does web archiving. Did a search for your blog and they have entries dating back until 2008. http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/https://www.julieharrisphotography.com/blog/
I just came across your blog a couple of weeks ago, and managed to look through all of your posts. Love your photography.
Cannot believe your host doesn’t have a snapshot of your database? And a snapshot of your directories and files. Something.
Another local photographer who loves your work chiming in to say I’m so sorry your website was hacked- it’s a terrible shame, and I hope you’re able to recover it all soon and without too much headache.
“I’m not responsible for my photographs. Photography is not documentary, but intuition, a poetic experience. It’s drowning yourself, dissolving yourself, and then sniff, sniff, sniff – being sensitive to coincidence. You can’t go looking for it; you can’t want it, or you want get it. First you must lose your self. Then it happens. – Henri Cartier-Bresson – September/October 1997, American Photo , Page: 96
This reminded me of your work. I hope your blog is up and going soon! I love going back over the images in Mississippi for inspiration.
