I wanted to send this along to all you artists out there who may be interested in participating in a very cool thing.  My friend Amber has started Decree apparel www.decreeapparel.com a hip and socially-conscious t-shirt line for women and kids, and is looking for artists to help create designs for the new collection. Through affirming and inspirational designs on the apparel, Decree declares the inherent worth of human beings; aiming to build self-esteem so, in freedom, individuals can pursue the plan designed for their life. Decree is dedicated to not only to building self-esteem through words, but giving back to the community and world-at-large through consistent financial donations to various organizations.  Decree also plans to build business opportunities in poverty-stricken countries by pursuing production opportunities in those communities.  So get out there all you creative people and get an entry in! If I had a creative bone in my body (aside from the whole photography thing, of course) I would totally submit something.  In fact, maybe I still will!   Winning submissions will be eligible to be printed on t-shirts. Artists of winning designs will be eligible to be featured in the Decree Apparel product catalog, which I will most likely be shooting product for….

Here’s what Decree is seeking: modern and stylish designs for specific “decrees” (slogans). Designs must incorporate the slogan and capture the spirit and significance of the concept. The slogans are positive messages, which aim to combat the overwhelming amount of negative messages we receive about ourselves, through various media, on a daily basis. In order to maintain the confidentiality of the new collection we’re asking that you contact us so we can give you the full explanation of the design concepts and slogans.
