The Wagners are expecting!
I’ve gotten quite the reputation for doing “racy” maternity shoots. And while I love doing them and love to glorify the pregnant female body, I also love a more journalistic approach to maternity sessions. Brooke, Jason and MacKenzie allowed me to document this stage in their lives and it was such a pleasure! I always tell my clients that even if we “go racy” that there should be a handful of images that are for the baby when she grows up—images that capture the life and times of her parents and possibly siblings before she was around.
There is a scene from The family Stone where Sarah Jessica Parker’s character presents her fiance’s family with framed images of their mother while she was pregnant. The image is of Diane Keaton fully clothed, sitting on a desk or table, laughing. The image is so striking in that there is so much joy and life captured in a single still frame. This is what I want to give my clients and their future children. And this is what the Wagner’s let me do….
If you haven’t seen The Family Stone, rent it and put it on pause when this photo of Diane Keaton comes on… It’s truly a phenomenal maternity photo.
Thank you for so wonderfully capturing such a special time in our life, Julie! You are right – I can’t wait to show these to our little boy someday and for him to see all the love in our family right before his arrival. So amazing – your work always moves me.
I love the picture of the little girl “running” on the bed. Love, love, love that picture.
Nice job! you really captured the quaint love in this family portrait pictures! Thanks for sharing!
Not only do I love that movie but I love that picture you were talking about. Your photography reminds me just that photo, your work is truly beautiful!
Your maternity portraits are amazing, I honestly wouldn’t consider them ‘racy’ though. Intimate and beautiful, but not racy. I can’t get people in my area to do portraits like that being down here below the bible belt 😉
These are beautiful though, the little girl looks like she’s going to be such a great big sister!
There are two photos that really stand out for me.. the one where the daughter is holding the pregnant belly (up close), and the one of that same little girl in black and white – blowing her bangs up. What an awesome shoot overall!
